The President participates in the Supreme Council of Universities Meeting at the New Administrative Capital

 Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, participates in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, which is held under the chairmanship of Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and the presidents of Egyptian universities. The meeting takes place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Prof. Yahya Eid states that the meeting addresses several vital files related to the development of the higher education system in Egypt. At the forefront of these is the rationalization of energy consumption within universities and institutes, in light of current global challenges. He points out the importance of implementing the ministry’s directives regarding the use of clean energy sources and expanding reliance on solar energy, which contributes to achieving sustainability and reducing operational costs.

The President explains that the Council confirms the need to transform scientific research outputs into practical applications and innovations that support the national economy, and to strengthen the link between universities and various industrial sectors. This aims to achieve maximum benefit from the research and scientific capabilities within Egyptian universities.

Dr. Yahya Eid indicates that the meeting highlights the importance of integration between university hospitals and those of the Ministry of Health to improve the level of medical services provided to citizens and support the state’s efforts in implementing the comprehensive health insurance system. He notes that Kafrelsheikh University pays great attention to this file through the development and enhancement of its university hospitals.

Dr. Yahya Eid also points out that the Council approves the timeline for the new academic year 2026/2027, with studies scheduled to begin on September 19, 2026, while adhering to all regulations governing the educational process to ensure the regularity of studies and the achievement of the highest levels of educational quality.

 

The President confirms that the university will continue to implement the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education, work on developing academic and administrative performance, enhance digital transformation, and improve the efficiency of human resources. This is in line with the Egyptian state’s vision to build an advanced education system capable of competing regionally and internationally.
