During his presidency of the University Council, the President appreciates the Egyptian Universities’ Land Project

 Today, Tuesday, the University Council, headed by Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, holds its regular session in the Council Hall to discuss a number of topics related to the educational and research process, and to review the developments and topics presented to the Council, in the presence of Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafrelsheikh; Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Aal, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Ismail Al-Qon, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Dr. Ali Sabry, Secretary-General of the University, the deans, and Counselor Abd Allah Ghallab, the university’s legal advisor.

The President points out that Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, laid the foundation stone for the Egyptian Universities’ Land Project, which is the first presidential initiative “Alliance and Development,” explaining that laying the foundation stone is in implementation of the cooperation protocol that was signed between the Supreme Council of Universities and the New Valley Governorate, regarding the allocation of 1,000 acres to each university participating in the project for the purposes of scientific research, agricultural and technological experiments, and the cultivation of strategic crops and medicinal and aromatic plants, the project will also work to attract distinguished human cadres of researchers, technicians, and experts in the field from research centers, universities, and various entities, as well as giving the opportunity to graduates of relevant faculties.

In his speech, Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafrelsheikh, begins his talk about the latest developments witnessed by the health sector in the governorate, starting with the positive and fruitful visit of Dr. Khaled Abd El-Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, which witnessed his inspection of a number of hospitals in Kafrelsheikh Governorate, the most prominent of which was Bella Central Hospital, which was opened on a trial basis, as it includes a large number of specialties and serves a large segment of citizens in the governorate. The Minister of Health also praised the university hospital and oncology center, as well as the emergency hospital, as the latest devices and equipment are available, which provide many opportunities to treat the largest number of patients who visit them.

The President reviews the issues related to the educational process, in which the Council approved the appointment to the position of professor for 2 staff members in the Faculties of Arts and Dentistry, the appointment to the position of assistant professor for 4 staff members in the Faculties of Specific Education, Medicine, and Commerce and the appointment to the position of lecturer for 3 members of the assistant staff at the Faculty of Medicine.

 

The University Council also approves the granting of doctoral degrees to 22 researchers in the Faculties of Physical Education, Agriculture, Commerce, Pharmacy, Arts, Veterinary Medicine, and Education. Master’s degrees are also granted to 28 researchers in the Faculties of Science, Agriculture, Specific Education, Engineering, Arts, Pharmacy, Physical Education, Medicine, Fisheries, Education, and Commerce.
