The Continuation of holding Educational Seminars and Medical Convoys as part of the Environmental Week Activities

The University's Environmental Week continues for the third day in a row its awareness and educational activities, which are organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, from November 5 to 9, with the aim of developing environmental awareness among university students, and employing their energies in the field of volunteer work for community service and environmental development, under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, the President, and the supervision of Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms that the University is keen to organize the activities of the Environmental Week in the form of parallel activities and events collectively between the university’s faculties, because of its positive impact on students, including awareness and educational lectures and community activities in which university students participate, who will carry the banner of growth and development in the future, indicating that the week’s activities is in line with the directions of the political leadership in joining the global trend to confront climate impacts and environmental sustainability, and research to find solutions to limit or adapt to these climate changes.

For her part, Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, indicates that the university implements many events and seminars in the university faculties, on the third day of the week, while cleaning campaigns continued on campus, continuing the landscaping and sidewalk painting campaigns, completing the campaigns of cleaning green spaces, and also completing the environmental sports league between the university’s faculties.

In this context, the faculties of “Agriculture, Physical Therapy, Law, Medicine, Dentistry, Specific Education, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine” at Kafrelsheikh University organize educational seminars within the activities of the Environmental Week on the third day in a row. These seminars addresse the strategy for confronting crises and disasters, safe handling of smart devices from the perspective of occupational safety and health, environmental protection in national legislation and international law, environmentally friendly animal and poultry production, services provided by the university’s Professional Development Center and a workshop on how to write a CV, carbon emissions and their relationship to climate change, the environmental dimension of national projects, the role of women and youth in preserving the environment. At the end of the seminars, all of the students’ questions and inquiries regarding the topic of the seminars are answered in the presence of a group of staff members, assistant staff, and a group of students from the faculties.

 

In the medical sector, the Faculty of Physical Therapy organizes a campaign for free examination, evaluation, and treatment in the faculty’s outpatient clinics during Environmental Week, for all staff members, assistant staff, and all university employees and students, under the supervision of Dr. Fayez El-Shamy, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Dr. Anis Ghait, the vice dean of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
