30/12/2021

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Hillel, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Kafrelsheikh University stated:

That Egypt is interested in producing electricity from clean and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind and has started projects to produce electrical energy from renewable energy sources such as the sun and wind in the Benban Solar Energy Complex project in the village of Benban in Aswan Governorate, which is one of the most important renewable energy projects, in the Arab world and Africa.

He added that the Benban plant generates electrical energy equivalent to 90% of the electricity generated by the High Dam, and that Egypt is constructing solar plants instead of establishing nuclear plants because the use of nuclear energy sometimes leads to serious dangers and it needs technicians with high-precision techniques, and this is what is concerned The state is now in the Dabaa project. And the use of solar energy leads to no dependence on Western countries for nuclear fuel.

The state’s strategy also aims to reach the contribution of renewable energy by 20% of the total maximum load by 2022 and by 42% by 2035, with the possibility of establishing solar power stations at the level of the Republic directly in areas of electrical deficit, which reduces technical and commercial losses in the networks.
