Kafrelsheikh Governorate is one of the governorates of Egypt. It lies in the northern part of the country,along the western branch of the Nile in theNile Delta. Its capital is Kafrelsheikh city which is about 120 km north of Cairo, in the Nile Delta. It takes about two hours to drive by car from Cairo to Kafrelsheikh.

Kafrelsheikh is blessed with remarkable naturallandscape, wonderful weather and a high number of sunny hours with a population near to 2.5 million inhabitants. The governorate is characterized by long seashore on the Mediterranean Sea, where the visitors spend nice time there.

Lake Burullus is located in the north of the Kafrelsheikh governorate.
