AbstractThe current research aims at identifying the effects of aerobic and anaerobic training using complex skills for improving anaerobic endurance and developing the technical performance speed on some functional and physical variables for junior soccer players. The researchers used the quasi-experimental approach. Main sample included (36) junior soccer players, who are purposefully chosen from Kafr Al-Shaikh Sports Club. A pilot study, performed on a pilot sample of (8) players from the same research community and outside the main sample, was used to identify: - Reliability and validity of tests. - Any difficulties that may face the researchers during the main application. - Organizing and coordinating work and test procedures and training assistants on recording results. - Verifying the safety of tools and equipments. Pre-measurements were taken from 28-5-2006 to 30-5-2006. Main application of the program was from 1-6-2006 to 1-8-2006 (4 units per week with total 32 units). The experimental group underwent the recommended program while the control group underwent a traditional program with the same duration and number of units. Post- measurements were taken from 3-8-2006 to 4-8-2006. The researchers concluded the following: - The recommended aerobic and anaerobic training program had a significant positive effect on some aerobic and anaerobic abilities of junior soccer players. - The recommended aerobic and anaerobic training program had a significant positive effect on improving the speed and technical performance level along with some physical variables. - The recommended aerobic and anaerobic training program had a significant positive effect on the physiological and functional status for the variables of vital capacity, VO2max and anaerobic abilities. - The recommended aerobic and anaerobic training program had no statistically significant effects on some functional variables of HR at rest, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure for both groups at regular rest in both pre- and post- measurements.
