Kyushu University is chosen within thirteen Japanese University to activate (G30) financed by the ministry of higher education, culture, sport and science and technology (MEXT) which aims to globalize some Japanese universities. In April 2012, Kyushu University will present scholarships in English for five programs in Bachelor stage for the different specialisms in Agricultural and Engineering science and 48 programs for post graduation studies in different specialisms.
For this purpose, Kyushu University established International Student and Researcher Support Center which will present its services upon the arrival of student to the airport and help him/her to get apartment besides the academic support and the job after graduation. Within this program, the university established an office in Cairo in 11 February 2010. Although this office will be run by Kyushu University, it presented its services for all Japanese faculties and universities which wanted to receive students from Egypt. It hoped that the number of students would increase to 3900 in the next ten years i.e., 300 students from the current number. Besides, it has laid the foundation stone for new faculty; it is named the international school of Arts and Science temporarily.
On the other hand, to publicize this program, Prof Katsumi Doi, the professor in Agriculture Faculty and Mizuki Sato, the official of foreign relations in G30 office visited the university in 10 March 2010 and held a meeting in the Development and Information Center with the students of Bachelor and post graduation studies to publicize the university, the study system and how to get scholarships for post graduation studies for Master’s degree and PHD through the international scholarship program that the university presented.
