In implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kafr El-Sheikh University participated in launching the comprehensive convoy, medical, therapeutic, and developmental, to Mahalla Bishr Village affiliated to Shubrakhet Center in Beheira Governorate, as part of the activities of the Delta Region Universities Alliance in cooperation with Tanta and Damanhour Universities and the executive agencies in Beheira Governorate, within the framework of the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” and the State’s plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt Vision 2030.
The launch of the convoy was attended by Professor Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University; Professor Dr. Elhamy Trabes, President of Damanhour University; and Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, in the presence of Professor Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of Kafr El-Sheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Inas Ibrahim, Vice President of Damanhour University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Wael Al-Faqi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; and under the follow-up of the General Administration of Environmental Projects.
The convoy included a distinguished group of faculty members and specialized physicians from the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing, where free examination and treatment services were provided to citizens in many medical specialties, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and venereology, psychiatry and neurology, pediatrics, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, and neurosurgery.
Professor Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, affirmed that the university’s participation in this convoy stems from its national and societal responsibility and its constant commitment to translating the vision of the political leadership into tangible reality that citizens can feel in various governorates. He indicated that Kafr El-Sheikh University has become an advanced model of the developmental university that actively contributes to building the Egyptian person and improving quality of life through qualitative initiatives and convoys targeting the neediest groups.
He added that the Delta Region Universities Alliance represents a successful model of integration and cooperation among Egyptian higher education institutions, and reflects the ability of universities to unite their scientific and human resources to serve society and achieve sustainable development. He stressed that joint work among universities multiplies the scale of positive impact and enhances access to the largest possible number of beneficiaries in villages and the neediest areas.
Professor Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid also noted that the university places community service at the top of its strategic priorities and continually seeks to expand the scope of medical, developmental, and awareness convoys to include various governorates. He affirmed that these convoys are not limited to providing treatment services only, but extend to spreading health awareness, promoting a culture of prevention, and supporting the State’s efforts to achieve health justice and deliver medical services to citizens where they live.
He explained that what was achieved today in Mahalla Bishr Village reflects the success of the joint work system between universities and executive agencies, and confirms that Egyptian universities have become a key partner in implementing presidential initiatives and achieving the goals of the New Republic. He emphasized the continued commitment of Kafr El-Sheikh University to its developmental and humanitarian mission through more convoys and initiatives that address citizens’ needs and contribute to improving the level of services provided to them.
For her part, Professor Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of Kafr El-Sheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development, affirmed that the convoy witnessed significant turnout from the residents of Mahalla Bishr Village, which reflects the strong community trust in the services provided by Egyptian universities through their medical and developmental convoys. She noted that work teams were keen to provide integrated medical services according to the highest quality standards to ensure maximum benefit for citizens.
The Vice President added that the convoy successfully examined 837 cases across various medical specialties, and 82 patients were referred to Kafr El-Sheikh University Hospital to complete medical examinations and receive the necessary healthcare. Free medication was also dispensed to all attendees at the convoy site. She confirmed that the university continues to support the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” by implementing more specialized convoys and awareness and developmental programs aimed at improving living standards and enhancing services provided to citizens in the neediest villages.
This convoy comes as part of a series of community activities and initiatives implemented by Kafr El-Sheikh University in cooperation with its partners from universities and executive institutions, affirming its leading role in community service and active participation in comprehensive development efforts and in building a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Egyptian citizen.
