The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the University Administration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf, organized a religious seminar entitled “Ethics in Building Society,” held at the Faculty of Sports Sciences as part of the educational program of the advocacy and religious guidance convoys. This event came within the framework of the presidential human development initiative, “A New Beginning for Building the Egyptian Human Being,” launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and was held under the patronage of His Eminence Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf; Professor Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University; and Professor Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, with the presence of Professor Dr. Ahmed Zina, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
The seminar was organized within the educational program for advocacy and religious guidance convoys, reflecting the Egyptian state’s commitment to promoting ethical values and establishing sound religious awareness among young people, thereby contributing to the building of a cohesive society founded on noble principles and values and preserving the stability of the Egyptian family.
Professor Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, affirmed that the university is keen to organize such awareness seminars, which contribute to building students’ integrated personalities, noting that the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building the Egyptian Human Being” represents a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at investing in the Egyptian person and developing his or her awareness and behavior. He added that the university works to strengthen cooperation with various state institutions, foremost among them the Ministry of Awqaf, in order to spread enlightened moderate thought and confront misconceptions.
For her part, Professor Dr. Amani Shaker, vice president of the university for community service and environmental development, explained that the community service sector gives great attention to implementing awareness and educational programs targeting various segments of society, especially youth, stressing that the dissemination of ethical values constitutes the cornerstone of achieving sustainable development and building a balanced society. She added that these seminars help strengthen national belonging and entrench the concepts of social responsibility among students.
The seminar was delivered by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ramadan Abdel-Samee, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Kafr El-Sheikh, and His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Hanbal, Imam, Preacher, and Instructor at the Ministry of Awqaf, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the importance of ethics in building the individual and society, stressing that adherence to religious and moral values is the best way to confront contemporary societal challenges.
The seminar addressed several key themes, most notably the affirmation that good morals constitute the true foundation for building a sound family and a cohesive society, highlighting the role of virtuous ethics as a powerful force that enhances the unity and strength of the nation, clarifying that the strength of the Islamic nation stems from adherence to noble values and morals, and examining the manifestations of moral decline and their negative effects on the stability and cohesion of society.
The seminar concluded with strong student engagement, as a discussion session was opened and their questions were answered, reflecting the importance of such activities in promoting religious and moral awareness and their role in preparing a generation capable of bearing responsibility and contributing to nation-building.
