Within the framework of Kafrelsheikh University's awareness and community role in preparing and qualifying youth to build a stable family based on awareness and responsibility, the university organized a religious, advocacy, and guidance seminar titled “First Year of Marriage” at the College of Commerce, in cooperation with the Kafrelsheikh Preaching Region affiliated with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the patronage of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif; Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University; Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and the supervision of Dr. Waleed Afify, Dean of the College of Commerce.
Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, affirmed that organizing these seminars comes within the university's keenness to support family awareness among students and youth and prepare them psychologically and socially for a stable marital life, pointing to the importance of cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif as one of the most important moderate religious institutions that contributes to spreading moderate thought and correcting societal concepts.
The President of Kafrelsheikh University added that the university's role is not limited to providing academic knowledge only but extends to include building a balanced personality capable of facing life's challenges, especially what relates to family formation as the nucleus of society and the basis of its stability.
For her part, Dr. Amani Shaker clarified that the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector attaches great importance to implementing awareness programs targeting societal issues that concern youth, foremost among them awareness of marital life, affirming that the seminar aimed to enhance the culture of dialogue and understanding and spread values of tolerance and shared responsibility between spouses.
The seminar was presented by Sheikh Ahmed Ali Al-Nadi, General Director of Preaching in Kafrelsheikh, and Dr. Dalia Khatab from the College of Arts, with wide participation from faculty members, staff, and students, as the seminar addressed a number of important topics related to marital life in its first year, most prominent among them managing expectations between spouses, the art of communication and emotional intelligence, methods of managing marital disputes, the constitution of privacy within the family, financial intelligence and family budget planning, and building the future identity of the family, and it included interactive segments, role-playing, and opening dialogue to answer attendees' questions.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants expressed their appreciation to Kafrelsheikh University for organizing such purposeful meetings that contribute to raising family awareness and enhancing societal stability, affirming the importance of continuing these awareness initiatives that touch the reality of youth and their life needs.
