In the framework of Kafr El-Sheikh University’s community and service role, and as a continuation of its efforts to implement the presidential initiative “Building the Human and a Decent Life,” the university launched, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, a comprehensive caravan (medical therapeutic – veterinary – awareness – developmental – agricultural guidance) in Abu Badawi village and the neighboring villages in Bela Center, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
The caravan came in implementation of directives from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the leadership of Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, and the supervision of Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, as part of Egyptian rural development and support for Egypt Vision 2030.
Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, affirmed that the university continues launching medical, therapeutic, and developmental caravans to the most needy villages and areas in support of presidential initiatives and eagerness to provide integrated free health services, pointing out that these caravans reflect the university’s national and community role in serving the local community.
The President of Kafr El-Sheikh University emphasized the importance of continuing to organize medical, veterinary, and agricultural caravans at the governorate level, contributing to alleviating the burden on citizens, providing health and service care for them in their places of residence, and enhancing integration among the university’s various faculties.
The caravan was field-supervised by Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Dr. Wael El-Feki, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Dr. Tarek Abdel Hadi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with participation of an elite group of specialized faculty members from the faculties of Human Medicine, Oral and Dental Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Special Education, and Arts.
The caravan witnessed medical examinations for a large number of citizens in various medical specialties, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology and obstetrics, dermatology and venereology, psychiatry and neurology, pediatrics, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, neurosurgery, and dentistry, where medical services and free treatment were provided, with referral of some cases to university hospitals for necessary examinations, analyses, and imaging, and performance of required surgical interventions.
For her part, Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, clarified that the caravan witnessed great turnout from the people of Abu Badawi village and neighboring villages, where the total number of cases medically examined reached 1001 cases, affirming that free treatment was dispensed to all patients as part of the university’s efforts to support presidential initiatives and achieve sustainable development goals.
The caravan also included organizing a specialized workshop from the Faculty of Special Education in cooperation with the National Council for Women on developing handicrafts, which included training on handicrafts and making Ramadan lanterns, aiming to economically empower families, develop skills of women and youth, and open horizons for small projects that contribute to improving income levels and achieving economic sustainability.
The caravan also included delivering an awareness seminar in agricultural guidance supervised by the Faculty of Agriculture, during which farmers were guided to the best modern agricultural practices, ways to rationalize water use, improve crop quality, and combat agricultural pests, contributing to increasing production and achieving sustainable agricultural development.
The Faculty of Arts organized an awareness seminar on national projects, which reviewed the state’s efforts in implementing major developmental projects, their role in improving service levels, creating job opportunities, and supporting the path of comprehensive development, as part of raising community awareness and enhancing citizens’ participation in development efforts and family guidance in cooperation with the National Council for Women.
In the framework of the veterinary caravan launched by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, free therapeutic services were provided, where 3520 poultry cases were examined and treated, 12 surgical cases were performed, 203 reproductive cases, and 489 internal cases, in addition to providing veterinary guidance and awareness on the importance of health care for domestic animals and birds and ways to prevent infectious diseases.
