In a distinguished academic atmosphere reflecting the status of scientific research and the spirit of innovation at the Faculty of Specific Education, Kafrelsheikh University, and under the patronage of Professor Yehia Zakaria Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, and Professor Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, under the supervision of Professor Naglaa Hosny El-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and Professor Wajida Mohamed Hammad, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty hosted the defense of the Master's thesis submitted by Ms. Mirna Ahmed Mohamed El-Nahhas, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Art Education, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Master's Degree in Specific Education, Major: Art Education, Specialization: Textiles, entitled:
"A Contemporary Artistic Formulation of Multifunctional Carpets Incorporating Conductive Electrical Networks and Sensors Using Semi-Automated Equipment."
The thesis demonstrated the ability of art to keep pace with technological advancement through an innovative research vision that integrates artistic aesthetics with modern technologies, opening new horizons in the fields of smart textiles and contemporary design.
The supervision and examination committee consisted of Professor Amani Mohamed Shaker, Professor of Textiles and Vice President of Kafrelsheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development (Chair and Principal Supervisor); Professor Tarek Abdelrahman Ahmed, Professor and Head of the Department of Spinning and Weaving, Faculty of Applied Arts, Capital University (External Examiner); Professor Ghalia El-Shenawy Ibrahim, Professor and Former Head of the Department of Spinning and Weaving, Faculty of Applied Arts, Capital University (External Examiner); and Dr. Rasha Atef Okasha, Lecturer of Textiles, Department of Art Education (Supervisor).
The examination committee commended the distinguished academic quality of the thesis and its advanced artistic and technological approach, which reflects the researcher's awareness of contemporary requirements. The committee emphasized that the study represents a valuable scientific and practical contribution to the fields of textiles and art education.
Professor Naglaa Hosny El-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty, expressed her great pride in the researcher's outstanding academic achievement, affirming the Faculty's commitment to supporting modern research that combines innovation and creativity while contributing to community service and keeping pace with technological developments.
The defense concluded with awarding the researcher the Master's Degree with Excellent, together with a recommendation for publication and academic exchange among universities, institutes, and research centers. The event concluded in an atmosphere of pride and celebration, attended by faculty members, teaching assistants, and researchers, who praised the high academic standard of the thesis, reflecting the distinguished academic standing of the Faculty of Specific Education at Kafrelsheikh University, and wished the researcher continued success and further academic and creative achievements.
