The Egyptian Family Home in Kafrelshikh University


Under the auspices of Prof. Maged Elkemary, the university president, a seminar on the religious discourse role in fighting extremism and terrorism was held. It was attended by priest Botros Bastawrous, the Egyptian Family Home president, dr Saied Amer and dr Samir Elmeiraj.

Elkemary stressed the role of the religious discourse in facing terrorism and spreading the right thoughts.  Elkemary added that extremism requires enlightenment and moderation which sheikhs should bear in mind to be able to put an end to terrorism. Bastawrous stated that all religions call for tolerance and moderation. He said that when we talk about love, we have to set a good example.

Dr. Saied Amer stated that the imam should be pre-cautious when fighting terrorism.


The seminar was attended by dr Rushdi Adawi, coordinator of students’ activities, Mr. Maged Habashi, consultant of the university president, and Mr Alaa Alerian, Mr Ashraf Sehsah, priests Y. Assad, and Somaeel Labib.
