In line with the Egyptian state’s directives to promote a culture of rationalizing resource consumption, and under the patronage of Prof. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, the Student Leadership Center at the university organizes an awareness seminar entitled “Rationalizing Consumption” at the Faculty of Nursing. The event is held in light of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s initiative “Save it, Enlighten it,” with active participation from the university’s leaders and students.
The President explains that rationalizing consumption is no longer merely an individual behavior, but has become a national commitment that requires the concerted efforts of all segments of society. He confirms that the university is working to integrate the concepts of sustainability into various educational and awareness activities, with the aim of preparing a conscious generation capable of managing resources efficiently and responsibly.
Prof. Yahya Eid adds that university youth represent the real driving force for change, and that investing in their awareness is an investment in the future of the nation. He confirms the importance of adopting simple daily practices such as rationalizing electricity and water consumption and reducing food waste, as they have a direct impact on supporting the national economy and preserving the environment.
Prof. Rushdy Al-Adawy lectures at the seminar, where he discusses the importance of the optimal use of resources, especially energy, water, and food. He affirms that rationalizing consumption has become an inevitable necessity to support the national economy and preserve the country’s resources for future generations. He also highlighted several simple daily practices that contribute to achieving this goal.
Prof. Sabah Abu El-Fotouh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, praises the importance of hosting such seminars within the faculty, noting their positive impact in enhancing environmental awareness among students and developing their sense of responsibility toward society, especially amid current challenges.
