Symposium on Intellectual Property organized by the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector

 The Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector organizes its first scientific symposiums entitled "Definition of Intellectual Property Rights Policy of Kafrelsheikh University" in the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Fisheries at the university, under the patronage of Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, and Dr. Ismail Al-Qon, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms that the university seeks to support and continue to contribute to innovation that pushes society forward, as we have technological incubators, which are considered one of the tools of stimulation the strategy of promoting economic development to nurture entrepreneurs, innovators, and start-up projects, during the early development stages of their companies and helps them transform their business plans and product models into successful businesses and create an environment for communication between entrepreneurs and investors, in addition to caring for talented, creative and innovative people to complete the sustainable development process in Egypt.

Dr. Hossam Ismail, Director of the Patent Office at Technology Innovation Commercialization Office, and Dr. Saber Fathi, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, lecture in the symposium.

The Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research explains that intellectual property rights laws aim to contribute to promoting technological innovation, transfer and dissemination of technology, in a way that achieves the common benefit of producers and users of technological knowledge in a way that leads to a balance between rights and duties and a close link to the goals of sustainable development.

Dr. Ismail Al-Qon continues, saying: “Believing in our belief in the necessity of contributing to the activation of intellectual property rights and our desire to encourage innovators and creators to register their innovations, we seriously seek to develop work in the Intellectual Property and Patent Office at Kafrelsheikh University to be the communication channel through which innovators can obtain ways of support to protect their innovations and creative ideas, register, market, and transform them into products that support the national economy and enhance trust between the university and the outside community, stressing that our goal at the university is to invest in ideas and minds to create a fertile intellectual environment that goes beyond empowerment towards a better future.

 

Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Aal, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs, says that the Egyptian state has, in recent years, pays attention to the necessity of linking scientific research with industry, because of the pivotal role it plays in serving industrial and economic development,  with the aim of converting its outputs into industrial products in various applied industrial sectors and creating a stimulating environment for research, development and innovation in line with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030 in building a diversified competitive economy, based on knowledge and innovation, through the development of a system of laws related to scientific research to support researchers and innovators, including the issuance of the Science, Technology and Innovation Incentives Law, and the establishment of the Innovators Support Fund.
