In line with Kafrelsheikh University’s efforts to develop academic programs and keep pace with modern trends in nursing education, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research—on behalf of Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University—received the Nursing Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities. The committee included Prof. Dr. Enas Ibrahim, Vice President of Damanhour University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Enas Qasim, former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Menoufia University; and Prof. Dr. Abeer Abdel Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Damanhour University.
The reception was attended by Prof. Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Sabah Abu Al-Futouh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; along with several faculty leaders and staff members. The visit aimed to review the Faculty of Nursing's readiness to activate the Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing Program.
Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, emphasized that the university prioritizes the development of the health sector and nursing education programs, driven by its social responsibility to support the healthcare system. He noted that introducing the accelerated program responds to labor market demands and ensures the graduation of nursing cadres who are scientifically and practically qualified according to the highest quality standards. He added that the university is taking steady steps toward diversifying its academic programs in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sustainable development plan.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim explained that the university has provided all necessary resources for the program's implementation, including infrastructure and trained academic staff. He stressed that the committee’s visit is a vital step toward finalizing the program’s activation, reaffirming the university's full commitment to the academic standards approved by the Supreme Council of Universities.
In the same context, Prof. Dr. Sabah Abu Al-Futouh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, stated that the faculty has completed preparations according to national academic standards. Classrooms and skill labs have been equipped with the latest educational tools and modern technologies to ensure an exceptional learning experience. She confirmed that this program represents a qualitative addition that will support the healthcare system and enhance the efficiency of nursing professionals.
The visit aimed to evaluate the academic capabilities and infrastructure of the Faculty of Nursing, and to review its readiness to implement the Accelerated Bachelor’s Program in accordance with approved academic standards. This included inspecting classrooms, laboratories, and clinical skill labs, as well as reviewing the curricula and governing regulations of the program to ensure compliance with quality standards and the requirements of the Nursing Sector Committee.
The Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing (ABN) program is a modern initiative designed to grant a Bachelor's degree in Nursing to individuals who already hold prior university degrees within a shorter timeframe. The program typically spans two consecutive academic years, followed by an internship period (internship year), contributing to the preparation of qualified nursing professionals who meet the needs of the local and regional labor markets.
The visit concluded with an inspection tour of the faculty, covering various classrooms and laboratories. The committee praised the distinguished readiness and capabilities they witnessed, emphasizing the importance of continuous development and the support of academic programs that serve the community and fulfill its needs.
