Under the directives of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, to enhance the skills of students and graduates, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sabah Abu Al-Futouh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing,
And under the supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Lawahez Mabrouk Dewidar, Director of the Health Skills Enhancement Center at the faculty,
The Health and Nursing Skills Enhancement Center at the Faculty of Nursing – Kafrelsheikh University organized a training course entitled:
"Assessment of Critically Ill Patients"
Held on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The course witnessed distinguished attendance from trainees across various health and nursing fields. It aimed to provide participants with essential knowledge and clinical care skills for assessing critically ill patients. The training was conducted by faculty members from the Critical Care Nursing Department:
· Dr. Hamada Abdel Hamid
· Dr. Nader Abdel Hakim
The course covered several scientific and practical modules, most notably:
· Module 1: Fundamentals of Critical Care Assessment.
· Module 2: Rapid Primary Assessment (ABCDE).
· Module 3: Advanced Monitoring.
· Module 4: Standardized Assessment Tools.
· Module 5: Communication and Reporting Skills (ISBAR Technique).
Practical Module: "A Day in the Life of an ICU Patient" (Comprehensive Simulation)
This module was designed as a live simulation starting from the moment of case notification until stabilization or the occurrence of complications, including the following stages:
1. Pre-arrival Assessment.
2. Admission & Primary Assessment.
3. Ongoing Assessment.
4. ICU Scenarios (Simulation of critical situations within the ICU).
