Objectives


 General objectives of the Department of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing: -

1- Creating a good educational climate by using modern technologies to follow up the mother and the fetus, to develop practical experiences that take place in pregnant care clinics, with a focus on the nursing role in caring for mothers who are most vulnerable to complications during pregnancy.

2- Integration of theories with practical application while giving the opportunity to continuous care and practical practice in all departments of obstetrics and gynecology, focusing on practical lessons, discussion of cases and conducting seminars within the framework of developing scientific and behavioral skills.

3- Focusing on the objectives of nursing assessment and effective intervention based on assessment of the physical, psychological and social needs of gynecological health problems.

4- The development of special practical skills through the establishment of classrooms, medical and educational convoys, educational seminars, awareness campaigns and health guidance for the surrounding community, which focus on special concerns within the comprehensive framework of women's health nursing and obstetrics and selecting some problems of interest to the surrounding environment to address them.

5- Giving some concepts and principles that a qualified nurse uses to maintain the growth and health of the pregnant mother, with a focus on appropriate nursing care for the period of pregnancy, as well as the relationship between methods of analysis and nursing care for the pregnant mother during a normal pregnancy, as well as focusing on developing skills in providing nursing care Alone or in cooperation with the health team.

6- Giving practical experiences that help meet the physical, psychological and educational needs of the mother during the normal and abnormal pregnancy period, and this includes the need to study the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system as a basis for assessing the general health status.

7 - Clarify the physiology of reproduction and the fetus, as well as the diseases and problems related to them.

8- Include the theories of obstetric nursing care for the mother during pregnancy, childbirth and newborns, the physiological anatomy of childbirth and the physical needs of the mother, as well as theories of the adaptation of the newborn from the environment inside the womb to the environment outside it, as well as neonatal resuscitation and the study of some selected cases of gynecology.

9- Including the theories and practices of obstetric nursing care in the postpartum period, and this includes studying the anatomy and physiology of the postpartum period, as well as studying contraceptive methods and some simple and chronic problems in gynecology and including them as a basis for nursing care.

10- Using simulation models in practical training and evaluation.

11- Use of information networks and contemporary outlook for nursing research and use it in continuous development.

12- Application of modern trends in nursing practices for mothers based on scientific evidence.

13- Application of infection control methods in the care of pregnant women, childbirth, postpartum and dangerous cases.

14- Applying the comprehensive quality system and observing the ethical foundations in nursing health care.

15- Establishing methods for continuous monitoring and follow-up, as well as evaluation, training and skills development.

16- Using the communication skills with the community, patients, their families, and the health team, as well as with the professors who are members of the teaching staff and the supporting body.

17- Encouraging scientific research by integrating the theories, results of scientific messages and recommendations thereof, and scientific research for members of the faculty and the assisting body in theoretical and practical courses and conducting training workshops and continuous workshops for members of the faculty and the supporting body in the framework of developing scientific and behavioral skills for them.
