Service Description:

Gastroenterology and Hepatology department at Kafrelsheikh Universit will offers a comprehensive range of services for patients, Including :

Kafrelsheikh Outpatient Clinics For

Gastroenterology & Hepatology Clinic :

All gastroenterology Diseases ( in addation to all pancreatic diseases), hepatology (Including Management of Hepatocellular carcinoma by the most Recent & least invasive maneuverers like Microwave ablation), advanced endoscopy ( for diagnostic & therapeutic rules) and nutrition . Patients may be referred by their GP or from ministry of health hospitals. Will be assessed in the our outpatient clinic & according to its disease (Hepatoma Board) & (IBD Group ).

Also we have Viral hepatitis Clinic ( for Screening & Early treatment of all types of Viral hepatitis including follow up sheet for every patient)

In addition to this we have a separate outpatient clinic for infectious disease & all cases of pyrexia of unknown etiology.

Admission and appointments:

Appointments are booked following a referral from the GP or from other consultants, and will be between 8am-3pm.

Indication of admission in outword

Patients with liver and gastrointestinal diseases, management of complications of cirrhosis (eg, ascites, variceal bleeding, renal dysfunction, and sepsis)

Also systemic infectious diseases especially those prevalent in Egypt (mainly TB, Hepatitis, typhoid fever, meningitis, chronic diarrhoea, PUO, almost all parasitic infections).

in addition to chronic diarrhea , malnutrition , abdominal masses for investigation , cases presenting with fever ± anaemia ± jaundice ± hepato/splenomegaly ± lymphadenopathy, and cases with hidden sepsis, such as amoebic abscess, psoas abscess, sepsis plus many others

Indication of admission in I.C.U

Patient with fulminate hepatitis & hepatic encephalopathy ( III & IV), GIT bleeding with hemodynamic unstable, Charcot pentad.

**Staff members are supported by a number of Assistant lecturers & Residents & Nurses who will offer treatment,

Counseling and advice for patients. Who also encompasses the Programmed Investigations which required for patient.

**The department also committed to research, training and education of medical student and junior physician.
