Kafrelsheikh, Beni suef, Suez Canal and Mansoura Universities No 151-200 Globally in The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2019


The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2019 announces about the list of the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger. The ranking is one of the most important global rankings objectivity and transparency in judging the universities in the world. It is based on 13 performance indicators through comparisons more comprehensive and balanced among the universities in five areas: teaching “learning environment”, scientific research “volume, income and reputation”, citations “research influence”, international outlook “staff, students and research” and industry income “knowledge transfer”.

As well, this ranking includes ten Egyptian Universities; four of them rank the first in Egyptian Universities Ranking, No 151-200 in the world and the seventh in the Arab World, namely Kafrelsheikh, Beni suef, Suez Canal and Mansoura Universities. Tanta University ranks No 201-250 globally, followed by Fayoum and Menoufia Universities in the place No 251-300, while the universities of Helwan, Menoufia, Menia and Zagazig rank No 301-350.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the world’s best young university for the second year in a row. École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne; Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; and Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris remain in second, third and fourth place respectively. City University of Hong Kong is now ranked fifth, up from seventh.

 

Otherwise, the President Prof Dr Maged el Kemary mentions that Kafrelsheikh University is the latest Egyptian university in the ranking, which is a strong recognition of the university's development in education and scientific research, noting that international rankings contribute significantly to improving the international status of the university in particular and Egypt in general in the field of higher education.
