The Supreme Council of Universities met with President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi in the presence of Khalid Abdul-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Tareq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Prof Alkemary, President of Kafrelsheikh University.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed the importance of the role of universities in building the personality of the Egyptian youth, pointing out to its central role in the framework of the comprehensive development process, currently taking place in Egypt. He also stressed the importance of the role of universities in improving the level of university students and developing their morals, since universities are an extension of the school and the Egyptian home. They also raise the awareness of students, instill national values ??and belonging in them, and prepare them to complete the march of the national action. It aimed to stop undermining the concept of the state.
He also referred to the role of the university professor as a model for students, and one of the main factors in the development of their scientific and cultural talents. Besides, he helps them to cope with the rapid changes and developments taking place in the world in the present age. During his meeting with the presidents of the universities, the president reviewed the state strategy during the coming period for the development of Egyptian human rights. He stated that the development of the education and health sectors is a top priority for this strategy, stressing the state's support for Egyptian universities and various educational institutions in Egypt in its efforts to develop and use the best methods and curricula, for the benefit of the Egyptian people. He also urged the presidents of universities to take advantage of the distinguished international expertise in the field of university education through the twinning of Egyptian universities and prestigious foreign universities, which will contribute to the development of educational curricula and the use of modern teaching methods, and training youth in various fields at the level of Egyptian universities, and restore its standing among international universities, besides the need to work on the development of self-resources of universities, to help them in the development of educational services. The President stressed the need to focus on scientific research in the light of its main role in meeting the needs of the state in the coming period as the basis of sustainable development. It also supported the distinguished and scientific young people, young innovators and researchers, in the light of Egypt's future energy and potential. At the end, Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, thanked the president for the support provided to the universities. He stated that the holding of the National Youth Conference at Cairo University is a message of encouragement to the universities as a forerunner of science, the leading historical universities in the Egyptian society, in building the country and qualifying the young people to participate in the practical life and serve their country in a way that best meets the ambitions and hopes of the Egyptian people.
