The university council agrees in its
session on Monday 27/3/2017, under the authority of the president Prof Dr Maged
el Kemary, to increase the value of the university‘s encouragement and
appreciation awards and scientific and management excellence by 100%.
As well, the council agrees to
launch a new award for excellence in administrative and academic performance
for deans and departments’ heads at the university.
The president mentions that the idea
of these awards comes within the framework of the university’s orientation
towards rooting the culture of discrimination and settlement of it, spread of the quality and
achieve its standards in the higher education through positive competition
among deans and departments’ heads, wishing that these awards will contribute
to disseminating the culture of excellence in teaching or scientific research
or management among staff members. This excellence leads to improve the quality
of education and scientific research outputs as well as community service.
He adds that
these awards are annual and prepared according to specific conditions and
consistent with the concepts of quality and excellence. The awards are
subjected to strict criteria when evaluating the candidates in the different
stages of nomination.
