Within the framework of the presidential initiative “Your Country Is with You”, and out of Kafrelsheikh University’s keenness to fulfill its community and developmental role and enhance its contributions to serving citizens and supporting livestock and poultry wealth, the university continues its field efforts by organizing a free veterinary treatment convoy to Village 58 Al-Khasha’a in Baltim Center, Kafrelsheikh Governorate, on Monday, August 10, 2026. This is as part of the university’s plan to provide its scientific, medical, and veterinary services to local communities and transfer its academic expertise to the ground.
The convoy witnesses a strong turnout from citizens and livestock and poultry breeders in the village. The veterinary team conducts the necessary medical examinations and check-ups, provided free treatment, and performed the required surgical operations and veterinary interventions. This contributes to preserving the health of animals and poultry, limiting the spread of diseases, and supporting breeders economically.
The convoy’s work results in the provision of veterinary services, examinations, and treatment for a large number of cases, totaling 345 internal medicine cases, 172 reproductive cases, and 23 surgical cases, in addition to the examination and treatment of 4,520 poultry birds. These figures reflect the scale of turnout and the benefit from the services provided by the convoy, which were not limited to medical examination but extended to dispensing medications and performing the necessary operations and therapeutic interventions according to the examined cases.
Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid affirms that the university places community service and supporting the state’s efforts at the forefront of its priorities. He points out that the initiatives and convoys organized by the university represent a practical model for employing scientific and academic capabilities in the service of citizens, especially in the most needy villages and areas.
The President adds that the training aspect represents a fundamental axis in these convoys, as they provide students with an important opportunity for direct contact with real cases and the application of the knowledge and skills they have acquired in classrooms and laboratories. This contributes to preparing a graduate who possesses knowledge, practical experience, and the ability to deal with professional and community challenges.
For her part, Prof. Amany Shaker, Vice President of Kafrelsheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development, affirms that the medical and veterinary convoys organized by the university represent one of the most important tools the university uses to deliver its services to citizens in the various villages and centers of the governorate.
Prof. Amani Shaker indicates that the convoy to Village 58 Al-Khasha’a is as a continuation of the efforts of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in implementing programs and initiatives with a direct impact. She explains that providing free examination and treatment and performing the necessary interventions contributes to alleviating the burdens on breeders and supports efforts to preserve livestock and poultry wealth.
In the same context, Prof. Samir Ahmed El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, affirms that the faculty is keen on active participation in veterinary convoys as one of the most important areas of linking academic education with practical application.
The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine points out that dealing with various cases in the specialties of internal medicine, reproduction, and surgery, in addition to examining and treating poultry, represents a distinguished training opportunity for students and helps them acquire practical experiences and deal with pathological cases under the supervision of their professors. He confirms that the faculty continues to fulfill its scientific and community mission and participate in everything that supports breeders and preserves livestock and poultry wealth.
The university affirms its continued implementation of specialized convoys and community programs targeting the various villages and areas of Kafrelsheikh Governorate, based on its belief that the university is not merely an educational institution, but rather a house of expertise and a key partner in development and community service.
This convoy confirms that Kafrelsheikh University continues to transform its community mission into actual services that reach the citizen in their location, in parallel with its role in preparing qualified scientific and professional cadres capable of active participation in building society and supporting the path of sustainable development.
