The University Council holds its regular monthly meeting for May 2026, chaired by Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of the University, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in the University Council Hall.
The Council discusses several important files related to the development of the educational, research, and service processes. It also reviews the preparations for the second semester exams for the academic year 2025/2026, along with a number of priority academic and administrative topics.
During the meeting, the President confirms that the current phase requires the unification of efforts and working as one team to achieve the university’s goals and strategic plans for continuous development. He confirms the need to raise institutional performance rates across all sectors and to maximize the utilization of available resources to support the university’s standing and excellence at the academic, research, and community levels.
Regarding the second semester exams for the academic year 2025/2026, Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid affirms that the university places the exams file at the top of its priorities during this period. He confirms the necessity of full commitment to all regulations and standards governing the examination process across all faculties.
He explains that the university is keen on providing a suitable and safe examination environment for students that ensures exams are conducted in an atmosphere of calm, discipline, and transparency, thereby achieving equal opportunities for all students. He confirms that the university administration is continuously monitoring the faculties’ preparations, the readiness of examination committees and halls.
He also confirms the importance of announcing exam schedules on time, ensuring the readiness of control rooms, and dealing swiftly with any observations or emergencies. Special care should be provided to students with disabilities, along with all necessary support to guarantee they perform their exams under the best conditions.
In a related context, the President confirms the importance of rationalizing electricity and water consumption across all faculties and administrative units, and adhering to organized procedures for optimal resource use. This aligns with the state’s direction toward supporting sustainability efforts and expenditure efficiency. He points out that establishing a culture of consumption rationalization is a collective responsibility that supports development plans and preserves resources.
The Council also reviews the efforts of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector. Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid confirms the importance of enhancing scientific and research cooperation with local and international universities and research institutions, and activating joint agreements to support the university’s international ranking and strengthen its academic and research position. He highlights the need to expand applied scientific research and link it to societal needs and development requirements.
In the framework of the university’s community role, the President confirms the continuation of community initiatives and activities serving the people of Kafrelsheikh Governorate, and strengthening active participation in national, environmental, and developmental initiatives, based on the university’s responsibility toward society and its role in achieving sustainable development goals.
During the meeting, the University Council approves several academic decisions, including:
· Appointment of 2 Professors
· Appointment of 4 Associate Professors
· Appointment of 5 Lecturers
The Council also approves the awarding of:
· 36 Academic Master’s degrees
· 12 Academic PhD degrees
· 18 Professional Master’s degrees
· 8 Professional PhD degrees
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid affirms that Kafrelsheikh University will continue implementing its vision toward achieving academic and research excellence and enhancing its role in community service. He notes that the coming period requires greater coordination and integration among all sectors to achieve the university’s strategic objectives and elevate performance levels across all fields.
