University Council during Its April 2026 Meeting

The University Council holds its regular monthly meeting for April 2026, chaired by Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of the University, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the University Council Hall.

Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid opens the meeting by confirming the importance of rationalizing electricity and water consumption across all faculties and administrative units of the university. He confirms the need to adhere to organized procedures that ensure optimal use of resources, in line with the state’s direction toward promoting sustainability and achieving spending efficiency. This would positively reflect on the university’s institutional performance.

The Council reviews the progress of the educational process during the current semester. The President confirms the importance of adhering to the specified timetable, completing the teaching of courses on schedule, and continuing to support diverse student activities due to their pivotal role in developing students’ skills, building their personalities, and enhancing innovation.

In this context, the President directs the intensification of preparations for the second semester exams, with full commitment to all regulations governing the examination process. He confirms the importance of providing a suitable and safe environment for students to perform their exams in calm and organized conditions, ensuring justice, transparency, and comprehensive quality standards.

The Council also reviews the efforts of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector. Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid highlights the importance of strengthening scientific and research cooperation with universities and research centers at both local and international levels. This contributes to improving Kafrelsheikh University’s international ranking, enhancing its academic standing, and activating the agreements signed with various universities and research centers.

The University Council approves several academic decisions, including:

  • Appointment of 2 Professors,
  • Appointment of 3 Assistant Professors,
  • Appointment of 5 Lecturers.

The Council also approves the awarding of:

  • Academic Master’s degrees to 15 researchers,
  • Professional Master’s degrees to 5 researchers,
  • Professional Doctorate degrees to 10 researchers.

 

Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid concludes the meeting by confirming the need for integrated efforts across all university sectors and working as one team. This achieves Kafrelsheikh University’s vision of academic and research excellence and strengthens its role in serving society. He notes that the current phase requires greater coordination and integration to ensure the achievement of the university’s strategic goals.
