Kafrelsheikh (KFS)  is characterized by diversity of its lands between coastal, agricultural and wet lands that helps in cultivation of a variety of crops especially Rice, Wheat, Cotton and Sugar beet cultivation as well as fish farming where (KFS) is considered one of the most important Egyptian governorates in agriculture and also it  produces about 40% of fish in Egypt. 

**** all of that maximizes from the role of (TICO) in linking industrial institutions and the university and its various faculties, especially (Faculties of Engineering, Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy and Aquaculture Sciences) and its research labs in addition to the Pharmaceutical factory at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Centre of Excellence at the Faculty of Agriculture, the Centre of Nano-technology at the Faculty of Science and the Factory of Fishing Industry at the Faculty of Aquaculture Sciences.

and as universities have an effective role in elevation and welfare of societies , (TICO) was created to link the university to industry, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
