Goals

The aims of the project

·         Insuring the continuity of the benefit from the outputs of the first stage of the ICTP projects.

·         Setting mechanisms for ensuring the entire complementarity among all the applications of the information and communication technology.

·         Presenting a number of electronic services to staff members and students through the university's electronic gate.

·         Introducing a number of projects depending on the outputs of the project's first stage and having a direct effect on all those who deal with the education system in the university.

·         Setting mechanisms which help implement the decision of the universities' supreme council concerned with the students' attainment of the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) as a requisite for graduation.

·         Suggesting a number of mechanisms assuring the continuity of the benefit from the projects' outputs after the end of the presented fund from the ICTP project.

·         Qualifying the infrastructure of the universities' information networks and of the Egyptian universities' network in the Supreme Council of Universities in order to cover the entire system of higher education.

·         Introducing new complementary applications for the management information systems and decision support in the universities and in the supreme council of universities, as well as presenting the higher education's services in an electronic form for all the beneficiaries.

·         Ensuring the presence of the needed devices, equipments, software, and the electronic resources in the universities in an economic way so as to magnify returns and reduce costs.

·         Supporting the higher education's information center in the supreme council of universities in order to complete and settle all the information technology projects.

·         Applying new methods of education such as the e-learning technology.

·         Providing electronic resources for information including books, references, and periodicals; and making them available via information networks.

·         Establishing centers in the universities and in the supreme council of universities responsible for presenting services which depend on information and communication technology within the field of higher education for the purpose of:

o   Mechanizing the administrative works in the universities.

o   Converting the curricula to electronic ones.

o   Mechanizing the work within the libraries of the universities.

o   Training staff members in employing and using the information and communication technology.
