 Vision

The achievement of leadership and excellence, and to be a prominent center for  Fish Processing and Biotechnology in the fields of education, scientific research and community service, thus contributing in achieving the vision of the Faculty of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences, Kafrelsheikh University and its excellence.

 

Mission

The Department of Fish Processing and Biotechnology,  Faculty of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences - Kafrelsheikh, as an educational and research center, aims to prepare a prominent specialized and technical graduates with highly competitive skills, to prime the distinct researches, and to create an effective scientific and applied solutions contributing to the service of the environment and the community, in the fields of fish processing, manufacturing and preservation as well as the advancements in food biotechnology, aquatic products and nutraceuticals disciplines to meet the community expectations from this prime institution and contribute for achieving the mission of the university.

 

Objectives

  • By completing the Fish Processing and Biotechnology program, graduates can be expected to:
  • Apply relevant technological skills and having insight into the entrepreneurship aspects of fisheries business.
  •    Contribute to fisheries product development processes through research, performing analysis, composing prototypes and running pilot productions of fish products.
  •     Conduct applied research to address societal needs in relation to fisheries production and quality of life.
  • Participate and lead in steering towards start-up projects of fisheries products or process design innovation.
  •    Have a sound knowledge and understanding of aquatic organisms and products, and a core knowledge and understanding in the related subject areas to this field 
  •        Have well developed practical skills regarding natural resources, biotechnology, and the general biosciences.
  •  Cohere with  good practice and safety measures in laboratory work
  •   Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to biological investigations and presentational skills including data analysis and statistics.
  •  Be a long life learning researcher in the fields of aquatic products utilization, evaluation and manipulation.
  •    Follow rules of ethics, attitudes and professionalism and demonstrate leadership.
  •  Use information resources and trained in various techniques to broaden the experience in research
  •   Acquire competency, precision in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data in Fish Processing and Biotechnology disciplines.
