Students of Faculty of Fisheries Visit Ghalioun Pond Farm

 Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Youssef  Desouky, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abd El Aal, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs, and in cooperation with the General Department of Youth Welfare, the Department of Military Education at the university organizes, under the supervision of Colonel Ahmed Abdel Monsef, Director of Military Education at the University, and Hisham Hamdi, Coordinator of Military Education at the university a visit by a delegation of students from the Faculty of Fisheries  to the Ghalioun pond project, within the framework of the students’ visit plan to the national projects.

The farm leader, Major General Ahmed Shams, explains to students about the national project for fish farming in Kafr El-Sheikh, which is one of the most important and ambitious projects in which the state has taken great strides in this field, as it is the first of its kind in the Middle East and the African continent, which contributes to bridging the food gap and supporting the national economy and the provision of thousands of job opportunities by relying on the latest scientific and technological means in fish farming and manufacturing, which keep pace with modern scientific requirements.

 

The students also listen to a full explanation of the different types of fish farming, and watch the Research, Training and Development Center and a hatchery unit for the production of "seed" for fish and shrimp, condensers, factories, and giant water and electricity stations.
