Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdel Razek Youssef Desouky, President of the University and within the framework of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the University and the Ministry of Agriculture and the leadership of the Popular Defense and Military Forces led by Major General Khaled Mustafa Tawfiq from the of university ‘s Military Education office organized a specialized visit to a delegation of students of the Faculty of Aquatics and Fisheries Sciences to “Al-zawia” fish farm in Hamoul, Kafrelsheikh. This is part of the student visit plan that is being implemented at the university to national projects. The students got acquainted with the different types of fish production systems, hatchery unit and harvesting methods.
The students also reviewed the stages of developing the quality and productivity of the fish product on an economic basis to maximize the return by raising the productivity of the fish farm with the application of quality standards and to develop new fish breeds to meet the needs of the local, regional and international market through the adoption of the latest scientific and technological tools and researches in aquaculture and fish processing, which coincides with qualification requirements of graduates.
The University president explained that the practical training programs for students of the Faculty of Fisheries qualify the students to practice their careers after graduation besides linking the theoretical study with practical reality that ensure continuous learning and development. Such programs can develop the student’ s skills and abilities so it is considered to be a keystone in the university plan. He literally stated: “The university coordinate with institutions and major projects sectors to organize practical programs for students according to their specializations”.
The visit aims to instill the values of patriotism and belonging in the hearts of students and introduce students to the projects that have been achieved. Finally, the president expressed appreciation for the cooperation with many institutions, stressing on the importance of communicating with them
