Dr. Abdel-Razek Desouki, President of the University, announced that the university obtained advanced positions in the Shanghai classification of majors for the year 2023 compared to previous years, and the university was able to come among the best 500 global universities in 7 majors. In the biological sciences major, the university achieved rank (201-300) globally and the position First locally on its own, becoming the only university to emerge in the field of “biological sciences” from Egyptian universities. In the field of human biological sciences, it achieved rank (401-500) globally and first place locally, and in the field of agricultural sciences, the university achieved rank (39) globally and second place locally. In the field of veterinary sciences, it ranked (76-100) globally and second place locally. In the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, it ranked (101-150) globally and second place locally. In the specialty of electrical and electronic engineering, it ranked (401-500) globally and second place. Locally, it also achieved position (201-300) globally in the field of engineering and energy sciences and second place locally.
The university president also stated that the university has appeared in 7 majors, an increase of two majors over the previous year. The university has also advanced in many majors compared to the previous year. In the agricultural sciences major, the university advanced from position (101-150) globally to 39th position globally, and in the major In veterinary sciences, the university advanced from position (151-200) to position (76-100) globally, and in the specialty of biological sciences, the university advanced from position (401-500) globally to position (201-300) globally, and in the specialty of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, the university advanced. From position (201-300) globally to position (101-150) globally.
Dr. Abdel Razek Desouki, President of the University, thanked Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for the tangible effort he provides for the educational process and raising the educational level of students in all Egyptian universities, which comes within the framework of the state’s plan for sustainable development for Egypt 2030.
Dr. Abdel Razek Desouki praised the university’s achievement and its advancement in the Shanghai classification of majors for the year 2023, stressing the university’s constant keenness to take serious and rapid steps to reach the level of prestigious universities in the world, by providing all the necessary capabilities to improve the educational and research system, in addition to providing continuous support to researchers. And innovators.
The university president stressed that this classification represents a strong international recognition of the university’s development in education and scientific research, noting that international classifications contribute significantly to improving the international reputation of the university in particular and of Egypt in general in the field of higher education and scientific research.
Desouky said that the university has maintained its presence among the major and prestigious universities in the world to confirm its leadership regionally and internationally, stressing that all internationally classified majors take into account the latest educational systems, which contributes to distinguished graduates capable of competing in the local, regional and international labor market.
For his part, Dr. Ismail Al-Qan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, pointed out that the success of Kafrelsheikh University in being permanently included in the Chinese Shanghai classification is a great achievement, especially since maintaining presence and progress comes with the increasing number of specializations classified internationally year after year, which confirms that Success is based on a long-term vision, strategy and plans and is not the result of coincidence, stressing that this distinction is the result of the efforts of the university and its members with the aim of continuously developing the regulations and mechanisms for promoting scientific research and the continuous efforts made by the university administration in all fields.
