Introduction

The department presents a geography program that aims at graduating students who are capable of

1-    Understanding the natural change in natural environments and human communities.

2-    Identifying the causes of variation and spatial differences.

3-    The ability to analyze critically and reasonably.

4-    Recognizing the importance of geography in determining many of the problems facing the community and providing solutions for them.

5-    Absorbing the facts that explain the relationship between human beings and the earth.

6-    Knowledge of various modern technologies such as computers and remote sensing.

7-    Using GIS in drawing maps and analyzing problems.

8-    Employing branches of geography and its modern curricula in community development.

9-    Familiarity with various statistical methods in data interpretation.

10-  Using modern means of technologies in geographic researches.

11-  Recognizing the importance of different types of maps.

12-  Recognizing the importance of field study in understanding social and natural environments.

·         Recognizing the relationship between climatic elements and patterns of economic activity.

·         Recognizing the importance of GIS in society.

·         Recognizing the spatial differences and understanding the factors leading to these differences.

·         Explaining the latest geographic terms and acronyms.

·         Recognizing the practical aspects of aerial photographs in the geographic area of study.

·         Explaining the basic concepts of aerial photographs.
