Introduction:

The department presents the program of Arabic language that aims at preparing graduates who are capable of:

1-Reading, writing, and fluently speaking Arabic

2-Reading Arabic literature

3-Knowing at least a second language besides Arabic

4-Perceiving the overall cultural framework of the Arabic language and the characteristics of its culture

5-Communicating with other cultures from a strong background of his Arabic culture

 

The academic standards we follow are to graduate students who are capable of understanding:

1-the linguistic and grammatical rules of Arabic

2-Common linguistic methods and literary expressions in the Arabic language

3-Common literary and intellectual currents in Arabic heritage

4-Productions of famous ancient and modern writers and thinkers of Arabic heritage

5-Cultural, political, and social history of Arab and Islamic nation

6-Basic knowledge and concepts in the field of literary theories

7-The most important linguistic and grammatical rules, and methods of expressions of a foreign language (second language)

 

Professional skills:

The graduate should be capable of:

1-Employing the information and concepts he studied in his work field

2-Reading correctly the Arabic texts

3-Using correct linguistic rules in writing or in delivering a speech

4-Employing various humanities in the practice of literary work and linguistic diversity

5-Using references in the second language he studied

6-Making conversations with language's natives

Mental skills:

The graduate should have acquired the ability to:

1-Recognizing contextual relationships of the different methods in the Arabic language and distinguishing between them

2-Analyzing and criticizing the oral and written Arabic texts

3-Realizing grammatical and linguistic semantic and their evolution

 

General skills:

The graduate should be capable of:

 1-Working in teamwork and leading a team

2-Express his thoughts in brief statements

3-Proposing suitable solutions to the problems that he may face

4-Communicating positively with others

5-Using IT in his field of study         

6-Collecting and displaying information in an appropriate manner

7-Dealing efficiently with sources of information
