Kafr el-Sheikh is a one of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt and its capital is Kafr el-Sheikh city. It located on the north of the Republic which directly overlooks on the Mediterranean Sea along 100 km of the coastline .it was named this name in relation to the Moroccan origin El-Sheikh Talha Abu Sa'eed bin Madin El-Telmecany .

Kafr el-sheik slogan consists of a Pharaonic boat as it is known with fishing ,two spike which refers to the rice production that Kafr el-sheikh Produces 40% of the rice production in Egypt and the three circles symbolize the leadership in the agricultural cooperative system . Kafr el-Sheikh population is about 2,510,937 people It is rich with many natural resources as Sodium chloride (Blatim table salt) and natural gas.
